"Who is Dark Symphonie?"

From the top.

Who would've thought that a TV show would dictate what I would want to do with the rest of my life? That seems ridiculous. Well, now that I think about it, that statement is not entirely true. Many people become actors by watching their favorite TV shows. The same applies to individuals wanting to become directors, and vice versa. If you're on this blog, you're most likely from the cybersecurity industry, or some of my friends and family who just want to check my blog (I love you guys, you hold a spot in my heart forever), but you've probably heard of that one show on USA Network called "Mr. Robot." A drama show revolved around substance abuse, conglomerates, relationships, mental health, hacking, and more. I don't want to give away too much. So if you're wanting to watch it for yourself, I highly recommend this show, not only because it has four seasons and one-hour episodes. But it's a great place to start if hacking is of interest to you. After the first episode, it inspired me to download "Kali Linux", a Linux-based OS that has hundreds of hacking tools. What I attempted to do after I installed it is a story in itself. Let's just say that hacking isn't as easy as just running a script.

Before I keep on going on, I should introduce myself. My alias is "Dark Symphonie." However, my name is Joshua Alcantara. I'm 20 years old. Born in downtown Seattle, however, I was raised up north, just about 40 minutes from Seattle. Before I fully invested myself in cyber, I attended one quarter at my local community college, taking my prerequisites to transfer to a university and get a degree in physical therapy. It wasn't until I took chem 161 and college math that I said, "Nah, this isn't for me" and finished the quarter at the community college and signed up for a 10-month cybersecurity boot camp. I signed up in November 2020 and had my first class in February 2021. Fast forward to now. This is my final week of class.

So now that you know the reason why I chose this path and a little about me, here is what you should expect on my blog. Expect lots of walkthroughs for EH (Ethical Hacking), DFIR (Digital Forensics Incident Response), and Cloud Security. It's not my strongest skill, but when everyone is transitioning to the cloud, it's better to hop on the trend and get great at it. As well as wireshark traffic analysis, which is one of my favorite things, for the purpose that you have to do a deep dive to find the infected IOC's, it really is great and doesn't get boring. as well as some Python scripts. My relationship with Python is somewhat like cheering for your favorite sports team. It's all smiles and happiness when things are going great, but as soon as your team is going through a rough time, you don't want to keep watching, but you have to because you hope for the best. That's how it is with pythons. Some days I feel really great and productive, and other days I want to uninstall Pycharm. Plus, whatever content I feel like. With that said, let's get started.
